Somatic coaching

People-helping professionals often put others first, and themselves last.

The result of this can be felt across the whole body, with feelings of overwhelm that leave people with higher levels of stress and growing disconnection from work.

Somatic coaching can support clients to lean into what matters most for them, using their body as a source of information. All too often, we don’t listen to our body because we are too busy listening to other people.

If you are someone who is feeling that they might be on the edge of overwhelm and are sensing that things have got a bit much, somatic coaching is for you.

Through Somatic Coaching you will be able to: –

  • Identify areas of stress felt in your body
  • Give space for underlying concerns to surface
  • Identify strength to build capacity from within
  • Develop new habits to support your whole self
  • Learn how to communicate more compassionately with your body

What to expect from somatic coaching

Somatic coaching sessions are an hour in length. Clients typically work with Sam for a series of 6 sessions spread over a few months. There is space in between sessions so that clients can practise new forms of self-care and compassion. They may from time to time also be receiving therapeutic or medical support from another practitioner.

Within the somatic sessions, we also focus on your resilience levels. Using a research-backed questionnaire, Sam will help you pinpoint where your resilience level sits and then work on a plan of action.

Sam aims to make these sessions enjoyable and interactive. Clients are invited to test out tools that provide a deeper understanding of what supports them to work and be well in the world.

Sessions can take place online. We suggest that the sessions take place on a day off, or at the end of the working day. This ensures time to process what might have come up in a session. Sam also sees clients in-person at a mutually agreed safe space.

What Our Clients Say

I was burning out and desperately needed someone to support me in ways to manage. Sam enabled me to cope and bounce back and we continued working together for the duration of my time at school. As well as receiving my own coaching from Sam, she supported me in ways to coach and manage my own team.

It has really opened my eyes up to how much my life is all linked together. Small habits in the morning or at night can impact the way I act and feel at work. How I spend my times on the weekend can impact my energy levels for the whole week. I’m understanding the importance of developing good habits to make sure I have better wellbeing and I am the best leader I can be.

Sam’s coaching came at a point when I was close to burnout. It was a difficult time, but with Sam’s skill, patience and belief in me, I reclaimed my self belief and reevaluated what I wanted, the direction I was heading and what was important. The tools that she used were an eye opener and really made me reflect.

Sam is an excellent coach – her skill of using subtle nuances provided opportunities for me to think deeply and take action. Thanks to Sam I moved forward at a rapid rate and I’m back to feeling like me – with an added sense of self and confidence! Thank you Sam.
